Key Responsibilities: Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand needs, vision, budget, and project scope. Design & Development: Develop concepts, create floor plans, elevations, and detailed technical drawings, often using software like AutoCAD or Revit. Technical & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet building codes, zoning laws, and safety standards. Coordination: Work with engineers (structural, mechanical, electrical) and contractors to integrate systems and materials. Project Management: Prepare contracts, manage budgets, estimate costs, and oversee project timelines. Site Supervision: Visit construction sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to architectural plans. Documentation: Produce construction documents, specifications, and planning applications. Core Skills: Creative design and 3D visualization Strong technical knowledge of construction Proficiency in CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Project management and problem-solving Work Environment: Primarily office-based for design and meetings, with significant site visits. Involves collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders. Often requires working beyond 40 hours/week, especially for project deadlines.
