Key Responsibilities Develop interactive GIS dashboards and web applications using tools like Leaflet , Mapbox , or OpenLayers Build and maintain REST APIs for geospatial data using Flask , FastAPI , or Node.js Integrate and manage spatial databases ( PostgreSQL + PostGIS ) Perform spatial analysis (buffer, intersection, proximity queries) Process shapefiles, GeoJSON, and raster data using GeoPandas , Shapely , or GDAL Implement geofencing, real-time GPS tracking, and alert systems Automate data ingestion from APIs, WMS/WFS feeds, or mobile apps Collaborate with domain experts (e.g., urban planning, health, forestry) to turn GIS needs into actionable solutions Required Skills Strong understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geospatial data formats Experience with QGIS , ArcGIS , or similar desktop GIS tools Ability to write spatial queries using PostGIS ( ST_Within , ST_Intersects , etc.) Programming: Proficiency in Python (GeoPandas, Shapely, Flask) Familiarity with JavaScript (especially for Leaflet/Mapbox development) Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for basic frontend customization Databases: PostgreSQL with PostGIS Data modeling and spatial indexing ",
