Application Engineer II (SDET)

Role Overview: As an Application Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the technology delivery of the product and manage the application lifecycle of various applications. You will collaborate with Engineering leads, Product Owners, and other team members to plan project timelines, assess risks, prioritize technical tasks, and ensure project milestones and deliveries are met. This role may involve working on multiple products and require collaboration with global teams, both internal and external. Key Responsibilities: - Possess strong fundamentals and in-depth knowledge of core technologies and testing platforms - Demonstrate a strong understanding of the software development process and various testing methodologies - Extensive experience working in agile cross-functional and continuous delivery teams, including in-sprint automation - Be data-driven and a pragmatic problem solver with a strategic mindset for tough trade-offs - Have a resilient personality, comfortable with change, and able to motivate peers - Listen, comprehend the vision, challenge requirements, and devise realistic designs Qualifications Required: - Over 8 years of experience in software engineering with expertise in data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns, including strong experience in Test Driven Development - Proficient in coding and modifying test automation scripts, with knowledge of testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies - At least 5 years of experience in automation frameworks such as Selenium/Playwright in an enterprise system - Hands-on experience in API automation testing using Rest Assured and Postman - Familiarity with BDD Cucumber/Spec flow framework using Selenium WebDriver - Experience in maintaining test suites, documentation, and test results for traceability and repeatability - Strong technology background with experience in delivering IT projects, including cloud-native applications - Excellent analytical skills and ability to solve problems in a structured manner - Proficient in agile practices and collaborative skills across cultures and organizational levels - Committed to continuous learning and self-improvement - Excellent communication and presentation skills in English - Focus on outcome, quality, and timely customer service - Comfortable with ambiguity and leaving the comfort zone Additional Company Details: Swiss Re is a leading provider of reinsurance, insurance, and other insurance-based risk transfer solutions globally.
