5–6 YearsWe are looking for an experienced

Mainframe Support Engineer

to provide

L0 and L1 support

for multiple applications running on mainframe environments. The role involves monitoring batch jobs, handling abends, coordinating with application teams, and ensuring high service levels in a 24x7 support model.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor mainframe batch jobs across Production, QA, and Development environments.
• Provide L0 and L1 support for mainframe applications.
• Respond to job failures/abends and take corrective actions as per instructions from application teams.
• Ensure adherence to SLAs for response time, resolution, and communication.
• Work on special requests/tasks received via email from job owners or application teams.
• Escalate issues appropriately and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and shift handover reports.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure minimal impact to business operations.
• Willingness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–6 years of experience in mainframe environments.
• Strong knowledge of Mainframe COBOL and JCL.
• Experience in monitoring and supporting batch jobs in large-scale mainframe systems.
• Understanding of job abends and ability to work on failure resolution.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and coordination skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability support environment.
