QA Tester – API Testing with Postman(3–4 Years Experience)

QA Tester

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute 

  API test cases

   using Postman. 
• Configure and test various types of 

  HTTP requests

   (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH, etc.). 
• Add and validate 

  authentication mechanisms

   (Bearer tokens, OAuth, API Keys, Basic Auth, etc.). 
• Build and maintain 

  Postman collections

  , including creating folders, environments, and variables. 
• Construct and validate 

  JSON request bodies

   and responses. 
• Write 

  Pre-request scripts

   and 

  Test scripts

   using JavaScript inside Postman. 
• Perform 

  debugging

   of API requests, test scripts, and environment/config issues. 
• Execute and monitor 

  collection runs

   using Collection Runner or Newman (optional). 
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand API functionality and requirements. 
• Identify defects, log issues, and perform retesting and regression testing. 
• Ensure proper documentation of test scenarios, test data, and execution results. 
• Take 

  ownership of the testing process

   and work independently with minimal supervision. 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3–4 years

  of hands-on experience in 

  API testing using Postman

  . 
• Strong understanding of 

  HTTP methods

  , headers, status codes, and request/response flow. 
• Ability to create 

  JSON payloads

  , manage variables, environments, and collections. 
• Experience writing 

  pre-request

   and 

  test scripts

   (JavaScript) in Postman. 
• Good knowledge of 

  API authentication

   methods (Bearer, API Key, OAuth, etc.). 
• Ability to 

  run, debug, and troubleshoot

   API tests independently. 
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. 
• Self-driven with the ability to 

  take ownership

   and work independently.
