Job Description

Role Overview:

An OpenText Content Server (OTCS) Support Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining the OpenText Content Server environment within the organization. This role ensures the stability, performance, and security of the content management system while providing technical support to users. The analyst works closely with IT teams and end-users to troubleshoot issues, optimize configurations, and implement enhancements that align with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the OTCS environment, ensuring system stability and optimal performance.

  • Install, configure, and administer OpenText Content Server and related components.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to OTCS, logs, and integrations.

  • Monitor and optimize system performance, configurations, and security settings.

  • Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls within OTCS to ensure compliance and security.

  • Perform database queries and manage connections with Oracle, SQL Server, or other backend databases.

  • Develop and maintain documentation including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.

  • Generate reports on system usage, performance metrics, and security audits.

  • Provide technical support and training to end-users, ensuring effective adoption of OTCS features.

  • Design and implement custom workflows within OTCS to automate business processes.

  • Integrate OTCS with ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics using OpenText Enterprise Connectors.

  • Utilize RESTful APIs, SOAP Web Services, and middleware for seamless data exchanges.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and IT teams to gather requirements and provide timely solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant security protocols and data privacy regulations like GDPR and HIPAA.

  • Support cloud-based deployments and integration on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Technical Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of OpenText Content Server architecture, functionality, and features.

  • Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Content Server.

  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, including log analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.

  • Understanding of network configurations and server settings relevant to OTCS.

  • Experience with database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server.

  • Skilled in performing database queries and managing database connections.

  • Experience integrating OTCS with external systems via RESTful APIs and SOAP.

  • Familiarity with middleware solutions for data exchange.

  • Knowledge of OpenText Enterprise Connectors for ERP system integrations.

  • Working knowledge of OpenText customization frameworks and xECM extensions.

  • Workflow development experience within OTCS to automate business processes.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.


  • Programming & Development:

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, XML and XSLT.

  • Experience with SQL for database interactions.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and use of GIT for version control.

  • Security & Compliance:

  • Good understanding of security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

  • Ability to implement and manage security settings in OTCS.

  • Experience managing user roles, permissions, and access control.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical information clearly to non-technical users.

  • Ability to interact effectively with users, stakeholders, and IT professionals.

  • Experience in providing training and support to end-users.

  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5-10 years of experience supporting and managing OpenText Content Server environments.

  • Relevant certifications in OpenText or related technologies will be an advantage.
