Description
Ammonia Refrigeration Operator An Ammonia Refrigeration Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring proper cooling, freezing, and other refrigeration needs are met. They monitor system performance, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. Key Responsibilities : System Operation: Monitoring and operating ammonia refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other components. Preventative Maintenance: Performing routine inspections, maintenance tasks, and repairs to ensure the system operates safely and efficiently. Troubleshooting and Repair: Identifying and resolving issues with the refrigeration system, including leaks, malfunctions, and low performance. Safety: Following all safety protocols and procedures related to ammonia handling, including lockout/tagout procedures and confined space entry. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of system performance, maintenance tasks, and any issues encountered. Collaboration: Working with other technicians, supervisors, and maintenance staff to ensure the smooth operation of the refrigeration system. Process Safety Management (PSM): Adhering to PSM guidelines and regulations to ensure the safety of the facility and personnel. Equipment and Instrumentation: Operating and maintaining various refrigeration and utility equipment, including boilers, air compressors, and water treatment systems. Skills and Qualifications :- Technical Skills: Understanding of refrigeration principles, ammonia refrigeration systems, and related equipment. Mechanical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration equipment. Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safe work practices, including lockout/tagout procedures and ammonia handling. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues with the refrigeration system. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, technicians, and other staff. Record Keeping: Ability to maintain accurate records of system performance and maintenance.
