AI Automation Architect

The AI Architect will design and oversee the architecture of ITBDs next-generation AI automation ecosystem including AI agents, bots, automation frameworks, and a unified AI-optimized data platform integrating PSA, RMM, HR, and other MSP systems.

This role bridges engineering, data, and business strategy, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient AI-driven operations across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical design of AI-powered automation products (agents, copilots, bots).
• Define integration frameworks for PSA/RMM systems (ConnectWise, Datto, Kaseya, N-able) using APIs.
• Design the Unified AI Data Platform to merge siloed databases into an intelligent, queryable AI layer (vector DB, RAG pipelines).
• Oversee prompt engineering, model integration, and fine-tuning for specific MSP workflows.
• Collaborate with data engineers and L2 automation engineers to build scalable workflows using tools like Rewst, n8n, and Power Automate.
• Create reusable architecture templates, technical documentation, and design playbooks.
• Establish data governance, observability, and security standards for AI workflows.
• Mentor AI Automation Engineers and guide solution design reviews.
• Collaborate with product and delivery teams to identify new AI use cases and automation opportunities.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of AI/ML architecture, LLMs, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and REST API design.
• Experience with workflow orchestration platforms Rewst, n8n, Tines, or Power Automate.
• Knowledge of data engineering tools SQL, vector databases (Pinecone, Chroma, FAISS), JSON/CSV structures.
• Strong grasp of cloud AI ecosystems OpenAI API, Azure AI, Anthropic Claude, or similar.
• Familiarity with MSP environments, ticketing systems, and automation contexts (ConnectWise, Datto, etc.)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Engineering, or related fields.
• 7–10 years of experience in software or automation architecture, including at least 3 years in AI/ML or workflow automation.
• Experience in MSP or enterprise IT environments preferred.
