AGM New Business Development (India Market)

Location: Lucknow / Bangalore

Role Overview

Assistant General Manager – New Business Development (Sales)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, development, and execution of new business opportunities across multiple verticals.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive business development strategy tailored to the Indian market.
  • Build and nurture relationships with senior executives, stakeholders, and decision-makers in target organizations.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and emerging opportunities.
  • Define and execute go-to-market strategies for new products and services.
  • Lead complex contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms aligned with company objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen brand presence.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, providing regular progress updates to leadership.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Ensure alignment of new business initiatives with overall corporate growth targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales/Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10–15 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, with a strong focus on the Indian market.
  • Proven track record of securing and growing large, strategic accounts.
  • Deep understanding of Indian market dynamics, customer behavior, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional negotiation and deal-closing skills.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Senior leadership experience in a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.
  • Established network within key industries/verticals in India.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Familiarity with modern business development tools and technologies.
