AEM Technical Lead

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of AEM developers, ensuring adherence to technical best practices.
  • Provide architectural oversight for AEM on-premises and

    AEM as a Cloud Service

    implementations.
  • Drive code quality, scalability, and maintainability through structured code reviews and guidance.

AEM Solution Design

  • Architect scalable and high-performance AEM solutions leveraging

    AEM as a Cloud Service

    .
  • Translate complex business requirements into modular, reusable, and efficient AEM components, templates, and workflows.
  • Define architecture for multi-tenant, cloud-first AEM environments.

Development Oversight

  • Oversee the development of core AEM components using

    Java, Sling, OSGi, JCR

    , and related technologies.
  • Ensure effective use of AEM Cloud Manager pipelines, CI/CD, and cloud-native development practices.
  • Drive automation in deployments and configurations.

Integration and Customization

  • Integrate AEM with enterprise platforms such as CRM, e-commerce, and analytics tools via APIs and web services.
  • Build custom AEM services, workflows, and integrations optimized for

    AEM Cloud environments

Performance and Optimization

  • Optimize AEM applications for

    cloud scalability, performance, and cost efficiency

  • Identify and mitigate performance bottlenecks during development and deployment cycles.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Communication

  • Partner with Agile project managers, UX/UI teams, and stakeholders to align business and technical objectives.
  • Communicate architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Quality Assurance and Testing

  • Lead the creation of automated testing strategies for AEM Cloud environments.
  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines include robust quality gates and testing frameworks.

Project Management Support

  • Contribute to project planning, estimation, and risk management for AEM initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement in Agile delivery processes.

Technical Documentation

  • Maintain architectural blueprints, technical specifications, and deployment documentation.
  • Ensure documentation reflects AEM Cloud Service architecture and configurations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

    in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years

    of experience in software development with a strong focus on

    Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

    .
  • Hands-on experience with AEM as a Cloud Service

    (mandatory).
  • Deep understanding of AEM 6.x architecture — including

    Sling, OSGi, JCR, and AEM Dispatcher

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    AEM Cloud Manager, CI/CD pipelines

    , and deployment best practices.
  • Proficiency in

    front-end technologies

    : HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React, Angular).
  • Familiarity with

    cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure)

    and DevOps automation tools.
  • Experience in integrating AEM with CRMs, analytics, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and collaborative project delivery.
