About The Role : Position Title Sybase Database Administrator L1 BAND Location India Department Middleware Role Summary As a L1 resource of his /her team, he /she : Takes up technical tasks and support day to day BAU tasks/Incidents/RFCs. Works in line with policies based on LEAN- best practices. Assist L2/L3 Team. Monitors various Service Now queues and emails. Key Responsibilities Technical Expertise Experience to Production Server Environment. Backup and restore of databases. Should have handled database installations and patching as Sybase/Postgress DBA. Installation and configuration of Sybase/Postgress Server and troubleshooting. Troubleshooting and resolving user access on databases level. Application DBA Exposure. Sybase/Postgress 12.x and above database administration experience. Knowledge in Replication, Clustering in Sybase/Postgress. Exposure to new features of current Sybase/Postgress version Development support/debugging procedures. Unix ,Linux administration experience is desired. Shift/Oncall & Weekend Support Flexible to work in shifts Shift Timings Morning Shift 4.30AM to 1.30PM Afternoon Shift 11.30AM to 8.30PM Afternoon Shift 1 12.30PM to 9.30PM ** Evening Shift 2.30PM to 11.30PM Evening Shift 1 3.30PM to 12:30AM ** ** Day light savings Period- Nov to Mar ( 1hour ahead) ** Public Holiday Support- Paris Holidays (Client Holiday) will be followed as public holidays and not India holidays Process & Tools ITSM tool- HP Service Now- Ticketing tool for INC/SR/Change/Problem tickets. In-house tools. HP OMI for monitoring. Basic knowledge on ITIL Process & Practices. Educational Qualifications Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Information/Computer technology preferred. Key Competencies: 2yrs (Min) to 3 yrs of relevant experience in Sybase/Postgress database administration. The candidate should have worked in a SLA driven environment. Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented and constantly changing environment. Good Oral and Written communication skills. Sybase/Postgress Certification. Scripting language exposure like Python and PowerShell scripts. Having previous banking BAU support will be added advantage.
