Role Overview: As a construction accountant at our company, you will be responsible for managing the accounts of various construction projects. Your role will involve developing detailed budgets in collaboration with project managers, overseeing supplier contracts, estimating cash flow, analyzing financial data, and ensuring financial accuracy. To succeed in this position, you must possess strong business acumen and the ability to minimize costs through efficient accounting practices. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to identifying financial risks are crucial traits for a successful construction accountant. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with project managers to create cost-effective project budgets. - Handle accounting tasks such as preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, and approving purchase orders. - Analyze all project transactions and incorporate unforeseen costs into the budget. - Maintain accurate records of project finances for auditing and tax purposes. - Prepare cost analyses based on project financial data. - Report financial risks and budget discrepancies to management. - Monitor market trends and forecast construction-related price changes. - Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. - Stay updated on developments in the construction and accounting industries. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. - Certification in construction accounting is advantageous. - Minimum of 10 years of experience in real estate accounting. - Proficiency in construction cost accounting and financial procedures. - Familiarity with accounting software. - Knowledge of the construction industry. - Strong analytical and mathematical skills. - Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. - Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. - Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
