Job Summary

We're looking for a meticulous and experienced Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. Theideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles, particularly within the logistics and freight forwarding sector, and be proficient in GST, TDS, and bank reconciliations. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model, combining in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Operations
• Prepare and file accurate GST returns; reconcile GST input/output. Calculate, deduct, and deposit TDS; prepare and file TDS returns. Perform timely and accurate bank reconciliations. Assist with posting journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts. Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.

Industry-Specific Knowledge:

Apply accounting principles and practices relevant to the logistics, freight forwarding, and customs clearance industry. Understand and manage financial transactions specific to shipping, transportation, and customs duties.

Documentation & Communication:

Maintain organized and accurate financial records. Draft professional and clear emails for both internal and external communication, demonstrating an excellent command of the English language.

General Support:

Provide general administrative assistance to the finance department as needed Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar accounting role.
• Prior experience and knowledge of the logistics, freight forwarding, or customs clearance industry is highly preferred.

Accounting Expertise:

• Strong practical knowledge of GST and TDS regulations.
• Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations.

Language & Software:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, etc. - mention specific software if applicable if known).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
