An Academic Counsellor guides students in making informed decisions about their education, courses, career pathways, and academic goals. The role focuses on student support, counseling, and academic planning to help students succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

• Counsel students on course selection, academic planning, and career options
• Assess students’ academic interests, strengths, and goals
• Provide guidance on admissions, eligibility, and application processes
• Monitor student progress and provide academic support when needed
• Maintain accurate student records and counseling reports
• Coordinate with faculty, parents, and administration when required
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and one-on-one counseling
• Address student concerns related to academics, stress, or performance
• Stay updated on educational programs, curricula, and career trends

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to guide and motivate students effectively
• Good listening, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, student management systems)
• Prior counseling or academic advising experience (preferred)
