Job Overview

Academic Advisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary Student Contact:

    Act as the first point of contact for students, addressing academic and administrative queries.
  • Academic Progress Monitoring:

    Track students' academic progress, ensuring they meet all submission requirements and stay aligned with the University calendar.
  • Effective Communication:

    Facilitate regular communication with students through calls, emails, and chats to keep them updated on their academic progress.
  • Query Resolution:

    Respond to and resolve both academic and administrative queries regarding fee payments, LMS issues, assignments, and project submissions.
  • Outbound Calls:

    Make proactive calls to update students on their course progress and address any specific requirements or concerns they may have.
  • Personalized Support:

    Provide precise, detailed, and personalized responses to student inquiries to achieve high levels of student satisfaction.
  • Process Improvement:

    Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to processes and workflows to enhance student experience.
  • High Retention Rates:

    Focus on increasing student re-registrations for the next semester and ensuring high completion rates.
  • Conflict Resolution:

    Use effective data and interpersonal skills to resolve conflict situations and handle difficult scenarios with professionalism.
  • Timely Submission Reminders:

    Ensure students avoid last-minute submissions for assignments, projects, and reports, guiding them through the submission processes.

Internal & External Interactions

  • Internal:

    Collaborate with Course Coordinators, Student Support Executives, and Faculty members.
  • External:

    Engage with students to provide academic guidance and support throughout their learning journey.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education:

    Post-Graduation in Management, Commerce, Journalism, Computer Applications, or IT.
  • Experience:

    At least 1 year of experience in student counselling, academic support, or a related field.
  • Skills Required:

    • In-depth knowledge of university academic processes.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
    • Experience with ticketing systems and CRM software is preferred.
    • Proficient in MS Excel (updating MIS, preparing reports) and PowerPoint.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work efficiently under stress and manage multiple priorities.
    • Team player with a positive attitude.
    • Willingness to work on weekends on a rotational basis.
    • Experience in inbound and outbound calls is preferred.
