About the Role:

We are building worlds - not just backgrounds.

As a 2D Concept & Environment Artist, your work will directly influence the visual storytelling of our cinematic universe. From ancient temples to futuristic cities, from quiet rooms to epic galaxies- every frame you paint becomes a part of a larger emotional journey. You will translate rough sketches from storyboard artists into breathtaking, atmospheric environments filled with depth, light, and feeling.

Responsibilities:

• Transform rough storyboard sketches into stunning, production-ready environments.
• Design and visualize locations, vehicles, props, and architecture that support the emotional tone of each scene.
• Craft lighting moods, time-of-day transitions, and color scripts that elevate storytelling.
• Work closely with Storyboarders, Director and Animators to ensure consistency and flow between shots.
• Build believable worlds that feel alive - from the dust on the ground to the glow in the sky.
• Create multiple design explorations when needed, balancing creativity with deadlines.
• Maintain organized files, clean layer structures, and clear naming conventions for smooth production.
• Constantly observe the world — light, texture, perspective — and bring that knowledge back into your art.

Requirements:

• Maximum experience required for this position is 0 - 3 years.
• Strong sketching and composition skills with attention to cinematic perspective.
• Excellent lighting sense — you understand how mood shifts with color and shadow.
• Ability to create depth, texture, and realism in 2D painted scenes.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Krita, or Procreate (or equivalent tools).
• Deep understanding of color theory, visual hierarchy, and atmosphere.
• Comfort working under feedback loops and iterating quickly.
• A humble yet creative mindset — open to learning, improving, and collaborating.

Bonus Skills (Preferred but not mandatory):

• Basic knowledge of After Effects or compositing for light or camera motion setups.
• Prior experience in cinematic storytelling.
• Understanding of texture maps, lighting references, and compositing.
