Job Description

To perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures, ensuring high quality diagnostic images are obtained safely and efficiently, while maintaining patient comfort and adhering to radiation protection standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Preparation & Care Greet patients, verify identity and required imaging order.
  • Explain procedure, answer questions to reduce patient anxiety.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort and appropriate positioning. Image Acquisition Operate X-ray equipment to take images of bones, organs and other body parts as prescribed by physicians.
  • Position patient and equipment appropriately to get optimal imaging with minimal repeat exposures.
  • Adjust technical parameters (exposure time, distance, angle, etc.) to produce clear image quality.
  • Radiation Safety: Apply radiation protection measures for patients, self, and other staff (e.g. lead shields, protective aprons, limiting exposure). Process radiographs (if film-based) or handle digital imaging systems. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory norms concerning radiation dose limits and safety protocols.Equipment Operation & Maintenance Handle routine maintenance and cleaning of X-ray apparatus.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure equipment is working properly.
  • Report any malfunctions or irregularities to supervisor / biomedical engineering.Image Processing & Data Management
  • Ensure images are labelled correctly, stored appropriately, shared timely with Radiologists/Clinicians.
  • Maintain patient imaging records, logbooks, reports.Collaboration Work closely with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with identifying when repeat or additional views are needed.
  • Support in emergency imaging requests / portable X-ray as required.Regulatory & Ethical Compliance
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, ethical standards and legal requirements.
  • Participate in training / continuing education related to imaging techniques, safety protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma / Degree in Radiologic Technology / Radiography from an accredited institute.

Certification / Registration Registered with state/central body (if applicable) for radiologic technologists; certification in radiation safety desirable.

Experience 1-3 years (or more) in hospital radiology or diagnostic imaging department. Experience with digital imaging systems preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating X-ray machines; knowledge of anatomy & physiology; ability to select proper exposure settings; ability to check image quality.

Soft Skills: Good communication (to interact with patients and clinical staff), attention to detail, patient-focused approach, teamwork, ability to work under pressure.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
