Wintel and Linux Engineer L3

Job Title:

Key Responsibilities

• Provide

  advanced administration and troubleshooting

  for Windows Server and Linux environments (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Lead the

  design and implementation of enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions

  (server builds, OS upgrades, virtualization, storage, and backup).
• Perform

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  for critical/high-severity incidents and drive permanent fixes.
• Manage and optimize

  VMware enterprise environments

  (resource clusters, DRS, HA, lifecycle upgrades, patch automation).
• Act as the

  technical escalation point for L2 engineers

  ; mentor and provide knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with

  global architecture, cloud, and security teams

  for standards, compliance, and policy enforcement.
• Implement and maintain

  automation scripts

  (PowerShell / Bash / Ansible) to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
• Oversee and optimize enterprise

  backup and recovery

  strategies (Veeam/Avamar), DR readiness, and participate in audit/compliance reviews.
• Provide input into

  infrastructure roadmaps

  and new technology adoption (cloud integration, security enhancements, etc.).
• Ensure

  adherence to ITIL processes

  and drive improvements in Incident, Problem, and Change management.

Skills & Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of

  Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO)

  and

  Linux administration

  .
• Advanced

  VMware vSphere / vCenter

  design and administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of

  enterprise backup and DR solutions

  (Veeam/Avamar).
• Proficiency in

  scripting & automation

  (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible).
• Hands-on experience in

  infrastructure security hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation

  .
• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to resolve complex technical issues independently.
• Strong communication skills to work with

  global teams and stakeholders

  .

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified:

  Windows Server / Azure Administrator / Solutions Expert

• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

  / Architect (RHCA)

• VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)

• Veeam/Avamar Advanced Certification

• ITIL Intermediate or Expert (added advantage)
