Bachelor s degree in engineering / computer science or a related field.

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

1

Install, Configure, Manage, Support, and Maintain Windows installed systems

2

Ensure security hardening of Windows systems

3

Ensure security of systems and data

4

Manage system backups, restore, and recovery

5

Manage user accounts, groups, and services

6

Manage and maintain storage provisioned for Windows systems

7

Work with users to resolve account/system issues

8

Provide support on all Windows applications

9

Provide support to users on basic and advanced server related tasks

10

Assist with Windows server administration tasks

11

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Help troubleshoot problems with Windows servers, running various versions of Windows

13

Engage in continuous testing of new Windows versions and applications on an on-demand basis

Perform change control

15

Assist with user management, such as creating accounts for new hires and training seasoned professionals on company policies

Help automate server maintenance, patching including running scripts and automated processes

17

Maintain server uptime and network performance

18

Assist with server documentation

Maintain server security

Ensure all administrative procedures are followed

Document all server incidents and outages

Requirement and skills

Understand Application & Business Requirements

OS Installation, Configuration & Management (through VMware and on Bare metal hardware)

OS Patch Management & Upgrades - Patching

4

Experience with strong Linux domain knowledge and troubleshooting skills, scripting, debugging and build tools.

Experience in Windows OS & LVM, RAID.

6

Knowledge/Hands on in Windows operating system

7

Experience in performance tuning of OS, Application and Databases.

8

Server hardening & System Security management -- at OS level (VA etc.)

9

Create and maintain necessary documentation - Reporting and checklists

10

Relevant experience on a high-volume enterprise help desk or similar support role.

Excellent hands-on experience on different Windows versions

12

Exposure to virtualization and cloud platforms.

Change & Capacity Management

High Availability Management

Monitoring & Alerting -- OS (CPU, Memory, Storage), Batch, Backup jobs, Proactive Health checks

Asset / CMDB Management

OS Clustering

Disaster Recovery (DR) - Planning, Implementation, Testing and Execution

Integration with various infra tools with Management AV, PAM, SIEM, DAM etc.

Collaboration with developers, system administrators and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance

Exposure to performance tuning of OS, Application and Databases.

Solid knowledge of and experience with Red Hat-based Linux distributions

Experience with different versions of Windows

Installation of operating system and system updates, patches, version upgrades per vendor recommendations.

Windows certified candidates will be given preference.

Demonstrable experience responding to end user helpdesk tickets with excellent customer service.

Understand how to follow good ITIL service management practices.

Have working knowledge of security methodologies in an enterprise infrastructure

Strong customer-service competencies, oral and written communication, technical documentation, time-management, and project management skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
