Job Responsibilities Welder (Oil & Gas Equipment Manufacturing | API Certified Organization)

• Carry out welding activities strictly as per approved

  WPS, PQR, and WPQ

  in compliance with

  API, ASME, and client specifications

  .
• Perform welding using processes such as

  SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and SAW

  as applicable to oil & gas equipment.
• Read and interpret

  fabrication drawings, welding symbols, isometric drawings, and weld maps

  accurately.
• Ensure proper joint preparation, fit-up, alignment, and root gap before welding.
  
• Maintain correct welding parameters such as current, voltage, polarity, and heat input as per WPS.
  
• Use approved and specified

  welding consumables

  , ensuring proper handling, storage, and traceability.
• Perform welding on

  pressure parts, structural components, piping, vessels, skids, and oil & gas equipment

  .
• Carry out

  pre-heating, inter-pass temperature control, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT)

  as required.
• Ensure weld quality meets acceptance criteria and is free from defects such as cracks, porosity, lack of fusion, and undercut.
  
• Support

  QA/QC and NDT inspections

  (RT, UT, MT, PT) and attend inspections when required.
• Rectify welding defects through approved repair procedures, if any.
  
• Maintain welding logs, job cards, and daily production records as required by the organization.
  
• Follow all

  HSE rules

  , use proper

  PPE

  , and maintain safe welding practices at all times.
• Maintain good housekeeping at the workplace and proper handling of tools and equipment.
  
• Comply with

  API audit requirements

  , internal audits, and documentation practices.
• Work in coordination with Welding Supervisors, Fitters, and Quality personnel to meet production targets.
  
• Participate in skill development, qualification tests, and refresher training as required by the company.
