Job Description

Position Title: Draftsman Department: Engineering Reporting To: Project Architect Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu Experience: 25 years Q ualification: B.E(Civil) Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed 2D working drawings, blueprints and site plans for residential and commercial projects using AutoCAD (or similar)Interpret architectural sketches, specifications and survey data to develop accurate floor plans, elevations, sections and detail drawingsCoordinate with architects, engineers and project managers to incorporate revisions, ensure compliance with design standards and meet project timelinesMaintain and update drawing registers, ensure version control and archive final drawing setsAssist in quantity take-offs and material estimation based on drawingsConduct site visits when required to verify dimensions, check installation progress and capture “as-built” conditionsSupport the design team with presentation drawings and basic 3D views, where necessary Desired Profile Proficient in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit or SketchUp is a plusStrong understanding of building construction methods, materials and local bylaws (CMDA / DTCP regulations)Excellent attention to detail and dimensional accuracyGood communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and site personnelAbility to manage multiple drawings concurrently and meet strict deadlinesA proactive attitude with problem-solving aptitude Competencies & Attributes Team player with strong organizational skillsWillingness to learn new software and drafting techniquesHigh level of integrity and commitment to qualityFlexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements
