Job Title: Senior Logistics Manager Location: Hosur Department: Logistics Reporting To: VP - Finance and Commercial Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized and driven Senior Logistics Manager to lead and manage all logistics functions, including domestic and international shipments, documentation, vendor coordination, and regulatory compliance. The role is critical in ensuring timely dispatches, cost-effective shipping, and seamless coordination across departments and service providers, without incurring delays, demurrages, or detentions. Key Responsibilities A. Shipment Execution & Coordination Manage and monitor export container planning , documentation, and dispatches to meet committed timelines. Oversee import container clearance , transportation, and landing at the factory, ensuring zero delays. Coordinate air shipment planning for urgent inbound cargo , especially for samples, spares, or trial materials. Prepare container loading plans in alignment with production schedules and space optimization. B. Vendor & Rate Management Negotiate and finalize freight rates with forwarders and liners to ensure cost efficiency. Maintain strong professional relationships with CHAs (Custom House Agents) , freightforwarders , and shipping lines for better service and priority handling. Explore and establish direct contracts with liners over time for preferred rates and faster booking. C. Documentation & Regulatory Compliance Doing and Following up with the logistics documentation team for timely and accurate shipping documents (Invoices, Packing Lists, BLs, AWBs, COOs, etc.). Ensure proper tracking and follow-up for EPCG license applications and compliance . Keep updated on DGFT, customs, port regulations , and ensure all procedures are followed as per law. D. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with production , sales , and order planning teams to call containers and prepare dispatch schedules accordingly. Ensure alignment between logistics timelines and factory readiness to avoid idle containers or missed shipments. E. Risk & Cost Management Minimize or eliminate detentions, demurrages , and other avoidable charges by proactive planning and vendor coordination. Track and report freight and logistics costs regularly to support budgeting and savings. Candidate Profile Experience & Education Graduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, or any related field; MBA preferred. 5 to 8+ years of experience in logistics and shipping, preferably in export-oriented manufacturing . (Preferred quartz, granite, tiles, marbles, etc...) Key Skills Strong knowledge of import/export documentation , custom clearance , and international shipping procedures. Proven track record in vendor negotiation and cost control . Working experience with CHAs, freight forwarders, and liners . Ability to coordinate across departments and manage multiple priorities. Comfortable using ERP/logistics software and tools. Behavioral Attributes High ownership and accountability. Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
