Role Overview:

VPT (Volume and Performance Testing) Tester

The role involves close collaboration with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure optimal performance and scalability of applications under load.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify

  Volume and Performance Testing (VPT)

  scope through explicit and implicit test requirements.
• Interface effectively with business and technical stakeholders for requirement and design clarifications.
• Assess and define the

  VPT approach

  based on

  non-functional requirements (NFRs)

  .
• Develop and maintain performance test scripts using

  LoadRunner / Performance Center (VuGen)

  for

  Web (HTTP/HTML)

  and

  Web Services

  protocols.
• Perform

  correlation, parameterization, and error handling

  in scripts for accurate test emulation.
• Conduct

  performance tests

  , analyze results, and identify performance bottlenecks across client, server, and database layers.
• Monitor applications using tools like

  AppDynamics

  ,

  Dynatrace

  , and other profiling utilities.
• Analyze logs to identify root causes of performance issues.
• Perform

  end-to-end response time analysis

  including all downstream systems.
• Analyze

  hardware parameters

  (CPU, Memory, Network, I/O operations) and assess their impact on performance.
• Understand

  throughput, response time

  , and define performance thresholds for critical KPIs.
• Work with

  Service Virtualization

  tools like

  CA DevTest

  for test environment management.
• Understand and validate the

  test environment setup

  and configuration approach.
• Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and system engineers to resolve performance issues.
• Prepare detailed performance reports and recommendations for system optimization.

Essential Skills / Technical Competencies:

• Strong experience in

  LoadRunner / Performance Center

  for script creation, test execution, and analysis.
• Proficiency in

  VuGen scripting

  using

  Web (HTTP/HTML)

  and

  Web Services

  protocols.
• Strong

  correlation, parameterization

  , and

  error handling

  knowledge.
• Hands-on experience in

  performance monitoring tools

  : AppDynamics, Dynatrace (Client & Server-side monitoring).
• Good understanding of

  API Architecture

  , request/response flows, and component impact on performance.
• Strong

  log analysis

  and

  root cause identification

  skills.
• Experience with

  databases

  like Oracle, MongoDB, DB2 and understanding their performance impact.
• Knowledge of

  hardware and infrastructure monitoring

  (CPU, Memory, I/O, Network utilization).
• Understanding of

  cloud platforms

  like AWS and

  containerized environments

  such as OpenShift.
• Familiarity with

  Service Virtualization

  tools (CA DevTest).
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills:

• Knowledge of

  JMeter

  or other open-source performance testing tools.
• Exposure to

  programming languages

  (Java, Python, or C#).
• Experience working in

  Agile / DevOps

  environments.
• Understanding of

  CI/CD pipelines

  for automated performance testing.

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in

  Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
