VMC Setter And Programmer

Key Responsibilities:Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to machine parts from metal, plastic, or other materials based on job specifications. Install and align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces onto the machine table. Load CNC programs or manually enter program codes for part machining. Programming and Editing: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand part geometry and tolerances. Edit and modify CNC programs as needed to optimize production or address issues with part quality. Perform tool offset and part zero-point adjustments to ensure accurate machining. Tooling and Material Selection: Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and materials based on the job requirements. Monitor and adjust cutting speeds, feed rates, and other machine parameters for optimal performance. Quality Control: Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMMs) to inspect and verify part dimensions during and after machining. Ensure that parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards. Record inspection results and adjust machining parameters to ensure continuous quality. Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance on VMC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and checking for wear on parts. Troubleshoot machine malfunctions or programming errors and make necessary repairs or adjustments. Keep the machines in optimal working condition to prevent downtime and delays. Safety and Compliance: Follow all company safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations and machine operation guidelines. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in production processes. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineers, production planners, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet production deadlines. Communicate any issues regarding material, machine, or production concerns to supervisors. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance part quality. Stay updated on the latest CNC technology, techniques, and industry trends.
