Job Description – VMC Operator (2D/3D Manufacturing Industries)

Position: VMC Operator
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reports to: Production Supervisor / Production Manager

Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Operator with experience in 2D & 3D component manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining VMC machines to produce precision parts and components as per technical drawings and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate VMC machines (2D & 3D) to manufacture precision components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM programs, and job orders.
• Load raw material, set tools, and adjust machine parameters as required.
• Perform program editing and offsets to achieve dimensional accuracy.
• Monitor machining processes and ensure components are produced within tolerance.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments like Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• Report production status, issues, or deviations to the supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with the programming and quality team to optimize machining processes.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of VMC machine operations in 2D & 3D machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & GD&T.
• Hands-on experience in tool setting, offsets, and minor program editing.
• Familiarity with CNC programming software (Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters, and machining cycles.
• Basic understanding of quality control and inspection methods.
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn advanced machining techniques.

Qualification & Experience:

• Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or related field.
• Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in VMC operations (2D/3D manufacturing).
• Freshers with CNC/VMC training certification may also be considered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
