Role Overview

Video Editor

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and produce high-quality videos related to political campaigns, public policy, governance, and social issues
• Create engaging short-form and long-form video content for social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, etc.)
• Collaborate with content writers, researchers, and strategy teams to translate political narratives into compelling visuals
• Add motion graphics, captions, subtitles, transitions, sound effects, and background scores as required
• Ensure content aligns with PlanPol’s communication strategy, political messaging, and brand guidelines
• Stay updated with political trends, news cycles, and digital video formats
• Manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Maintain organized project files and version control

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional experience as a Video Editor
• Prior experience in

  political campaigns, political consulting firms, media houses, public policy organizations, or advocacy groups

• Proficiency in video editing software such as

  Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve

• Strong understanding of political communication, messaging tone, and audience targeting
• Experience with subtitles, reels, shorts, and political explainer videos
• Good sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual aesthetics
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced political environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on election campaigns or issue-based advocacy projects
• Knowledge of Tamil and English political content (spoken or written) is an added advantage
• Basic motion graphics and infographic animation skill
