Job Briefing:

Our client is looking for a seasoned and strategic leader in the role of Vice President-Operations. This leadership role will be responsible for driving the overall business strategy, ensuring P&L ownership, and enabling scalable growth across multiple categories, channels, and functions. The role will oversee the seller organization, buyer organization, vendor management & other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

P&L and Business Ownership

• Take full ownership of the e-commerce P&Lrevenue, costs, gross margin, and contribution margin.
• Develop and execute annual business plans and category-level strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and product strategies for sustainable growth.

Category, Product & Marketplace Strategy

• Lead all category-level decisionsincluding assortment, pricing, promotion strategy, catalog health, and inventory planning.
• Engage with marketplace stakeholders (Flipkart & others) to meet business targets.
• Collaborate with external consultants on strategic initiatives and execution roadmaps.

Operational Excellence & Process Build-Out

• Build scalable SOPs across supply chain, procurement, inventory management, fulfilment, and returns.
• Optimize product visibility, fulfilment, traffic, and conversions across marketplace platforms.
• Improve core e-commerce KPIs such as fill rate, buy-sell margin, brand support, and customer satisfaction.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Drive collaboration across inventory, vendor relations, procurement, finance, logistics, and marketplace teams.
• Ensure smooth coordination between seller organization, buyer organization, vendor managers, finance, and supply chain stakeholders.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

• Identify and mitigate business risks across legal, operational, financial, and reputational categories.
• Ensure compliance with marketplace regulations,taxation norms, data protection policies, and brand guidelines.

People Leadership

• Lead and mentor a growing team with strong focus on ownership, agility, and customer-first approach.
• Drive talent development, performance reviews, and succession planning for the e-commerce vertical.

Analytics & Performance Management

• Leverage data analytics for insights into customer behaviour, category performance, and pricing impact.
• Drive continuous improvement using dashboards, KPIs, structured performance reviews, and business cadence.

Required Qualifications:

• CA / MBA

  (preferably from Tier-1 institutes).
• CA candidates will be given preference.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 15 years

  in senior leadership roles within e-commerce, digital retail, consumer tech, or related industries.

Skills and Competencies :

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and accountability.
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Robust network with brands, vendors, and marketplace players.
