Job Description

You will be responsible for managing a team of investment analysts and performing investment due diligence on alternative investment funds and managers in the role of Alternative Investments Due Diligence Vice President. Your core functions will include: - Managing a team of investment analysts and partnering with them to perform initial and ongoing investment due diligence on alternative investment strategies such as private equity, private credit, private real assets, and hedge funds. - Participating in alternative investment manager meetings regularly and taking meeting notes. - Preparing written research reports, commentaries on fund managers, and thought leadership pieces on market trends and opportunities affecting alternative investment strategies. - Conducting quarterly liquid risk analysis to assess exposure to alternative investment products. - Preparing quarterly and annual reviews on alternative investment strategies. - Performing peer analyses to compare various alternative strategies and managers. - Analyzing managers based on their investment process, track record, attribution, portfolio construction, and risk management capabilities. Your ongoing activities will involve: - Overseeing the GIMA Alternatives Mumbai team on a day-to-day basis and collaborating with the team to deliver ongoing due diligence. - Adhering to policies and procedures for ongoing due diligence, written research notes, and updating reports. - Interacting with onshore GIMA analysts and other internal teams like Operational Due Diligence, Product Management, Sales, Legal, and Compliance as required. - Fostering a collegial, team atmosphere that encourages idea sharing, learning, and collaboration. - Training and mentoring junior team members. - Staying updated on WM Global Investment Offices (GIO) market views, regulatory matters, and broader market developments affecting funds, managers, clients, and the industry. Your qualifications should include: - 9+ years of job experience in the financial services industry, with a preference for experience in alternative investments. - Managerial experience is preferred. - Knowledge of various alternative investment strategies. - Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience in drafting internal memoranda and detailed reports. - Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. - Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities. - Efficient interface capabilities with onshore GIMA analysts. - An undergraduate degree is required, while a CFA, CPA, and/or CAIA are viewed favorably.
