Key Responsibilities:

• Laboratory Work: Conduct research and development activities in organic chemistry,

focusing on the synthesis and characterization of speciality chemicals.

• Literature Review: Conducting literature searches to gather relevant information on

chemical processes and reactions.

• Collaboration: Working closely with senior chemists and other team members to

support ongoing projects and experiments.

• Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to drive project

progress.

• Optimize existing chemical processes and formulations to improve efficiency, yield, and

product quality.

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of samples using various analytical techniques

such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.

• Collect and record data from experiments and analyses accurately in laboratory

notebooks and electronic databases.

• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to experimental

results and methodologies.

• Learning and Development: Engaging in training sessions and workshops to enhance

your knowledge and skills in synthetic chemistry.

• Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in organic chemistry, and regulatory

requirements.

• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all laboratory practices.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning properly. Assist

in routine analysis of different intermediates.

• Conduct research and gather data to support ongoing projects.

• Collaborate with team members on transformation and method developments.

• Perform administrative tasks to support the team.

• Conduct literature search, be aware of industrial developments and try to incorporate

new ideas wherever appropriate.

• Manage inventory of chemicals, glassware and stocks of other consumables utilized in

daily lab activities.

Required Qualifications

• Masters degree (MSc) in Organic Chemistry or a related field.

• 3-8 years of relevant industrial experience in speciality chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or

oleochemical industries.

• Strong knowledge of organic synthesis, analytical techniques, and characterization

methods.

• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis.

• Experience in wet chemistry analysis. Familiarity with chemical nomenclature, reactivity,

and properties of various organic compounds.

• Strong computer proficiencies Word, Excel and Power point, ChemDraw,

MarvinSketch, Biovia, Scifinder, Reaxys etc.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with process development and scale-up in a manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.

• Knowledge of green chemistry principles and sustainability practices.
