UI/ UX Designer

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:

The UI and UX Designer is responsible to both the customer experience as well as overall website success. He or she is responsible to improve the website experience for

visitors and users to a particular site each day: 1) the creative design of a site; 2) the ease of searching for particular information on a site and 3) links between pages.

This position understands the big picture; he or she will design the organisational structure behind a website and make certain interactive components of a site can be achieved. He/ she is a skilled programmer, creative and on top of the latest industry and cultural trends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify users’ needs and understand how users consume and navigate content
• Plan and design the information architecture for the website or app; what information should go where; which elements are more important and should be given priority
• Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales to develop a core understanding of user personas
• Conduct research to identify user needs. Designs to the user experience, marking them as one of the most important experts that can affect whether the company website will go viral or languish in Internet limbo.
• Design and prototype elegant solutions for web and mobile apps. Create graphical menu user interfaces which will communicate the relevant information required in order to guide the users and improve the total overall user experience
• Create a well-organized, value-driven framework for implementing sturdy UX design
• Build prototypes of creative design concepts; build an idea and test it out on the web
• Work within brand guidelines to create layouts that reinforce a brand’s style or voice through its visual touch-points
• Combine UX thinking with design execution, to produce usable and intuitive user interfaces
• Plan and run user tests
• Communicate and execute design solutions to stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business information technology, e-commerce, digital marketing or related disciplines
• At least 5 years in UI and UX architectural design and implementation
• Have worked as a consultant in the related field, sufficient experience on a multitude of projects namely commercial websites and platforms.
• Team player able to actively listen, take verbal instruction and extrapolate it to create concrete web content.
• Patience is always required during the beta testing process of any website and flexibility is a must.
