Tunnel Engineer/Surveyor/Geologist

Role & responsibilities

Tunnel Engineer

• Develop detailed execution plans for tunnel construction (TBM, NATM, cut & cover, etc.).
• Supervise the day-to-day activities of tunnel works on-site.
• Coordinate with planning and design teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
• Strong understanding of tunneling methods (TBM, NATM, etc.).
• Experience with tunnel instrumentation and monitoring.
• Familiarity with construction software (AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Geologist

• Conduct

  field surveys

  ,

  mapping

  , and

  sampling

  of rocks, soils, and groundwater.
• Assess subsurface conditions using drilling, boreholes, test pits, and geophysical methods.
• Analyze geological hazards such as faults, landslides, or sinkholes.
• Prepare

  geological reports

  , site investigation reports, and technical documents.
• Document lithology, stratigraphy, ground conditions, and recommendations.
• Communicate findings to engineers, project managers, or regulatory authorities.
• Assess geological risks such as

• Recommend suitable construction techniques, foundation types, or ground improvement methods based on site geology.
• Provide geological input into tunnel alignment, dam siting, and excavation methods.

Surveyor

• Study project plans and tunnel alignment drawings to plan survey operations.
• Set up primary control points and benchmarks both on the surface and underground.
• Coordinate with design and execution teams to understand technical requirements.
• Accurately set out the
