Core Responsibilities

Fleet Maintenance Oversight:
Schedule and supervise preventative maintenance, inspections, and necessary repairs for vehicles like trucks, tractors, and vans.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring they follow safety protocols and quality standards.
Budget and Cost Management:
Develop and manage maintenance budgets, monitor repair costs, and negotiate with vendors for parts and services.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure the fleet meets manufacturer specifications, regulatory requirements (such as Department of Transportation), and environmental standards.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records for each vehicle, including maintenance logs, repair history, and inspection reports.
Emergency Response:
Coordinate responses to emergency repairs and unexpected breakdowns to minimize vehicle downtime.
Vendor Management:
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with third-party vendors for parts, specialized repairs, and other services.
