Transport Head

Job Summary

The Transport Head will be responsible for end-to-end management of the school transport operations across multiple campuses, ensuring student safety, vehicle efficiency, regulatory compliance, and smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily transport operations for all school campuses
  
• Manage and supervise drivers, cleaners, and transport staff
  
• Ensure safe, timely, and efficient transportation of students and staff
  
• Monitor vehicle routes, schedules, and fuel usage
  
• Ensure all buses comply with RTA norms, safety standards, and school policies
  
• Handle breakdowns, emergencies, and route-related issues
  
• Maintain transport records, permits, insurance, fitness certificates, and logs
  

Mechanical & Technical Responsibilities:

• Strong knowledge of

  automobile and mechanical parts

• Hands-on understanding of

  how school buses operate and are maintained

• Oversee regular servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance
  
• Identify mechanical issues and coordinate repairs with workshops/vendors
  
• Monitor vehicle condition and ensure optimal performance of buses
  

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure installation and maintenance of safety equipment (GPS, CCTV, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, speed governors)
  
• Conduct regular safety checks and drills
  
• Train drivers on safety protocols and student handling
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 1012 years of relevant experience in transport / fleet operations
  
• Strong

  mechanical and automobile knowledge

• Experience managing

  school buses or large vehicle fleets

• Good knowledge of local routes and transport regulations
  
• Leadership and team management skills
  
• Problem-solving and crisis management ability
