Transplant Surgeon

As a Consultant Heart and Lung Transplant Surgeon at Fortis Hospital Mumbai, you will be an integral part of the Cardiothoracic Surgery/ Transplant Program. Your role will involve performing complex heart and lung transplant surgeries, managing pre- and post-transplant care, and contributing to the development of a world-class transplant program. Key Responsibilities: - Perform heart and lung transplant surgeries, including evaluation, donor-recipient matching, surgical transplantation, and post-operative care. - Lead and manage multidisciplinary transplant teams, including pulmonologists, cardiologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, transplant coordinators, and nursing staff. - Oversee and participate in pre-transplant assessment, including patient selection, education, and risk stratification. - Manage post-operative care, including immunosuppression management, rejection monitoring, infection prevention, and long-term follow-up. - Ensure compliance with national transplant regulations and ethical standards, including organ allocation protocols. - Collaborate with organ procurement organizations, critical care teams, and retrieval teams for effective donor management. - Maintain high standards of surgical outcomes and patient safety, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. - Participate in academic, research, and training activities related to cardiothoracic transplantation. Qualifications Required: - MCh/DNB in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) - Fellowship or specialized training in Heart and/or Lung Transplant Surgery (mandatory) - Proven track record of independently performing heart and lung transplant surgeries - In-depth knowledge of transplant immunology, surgical techniques, and critical care protocols - Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills - Willingness to participate in on-call duties and emergency transplant procedures,
