As an Underwriter at NLG, you will play a crucial role in conducting risk assessments and upholding NLG's Underwriting philosophies to protect the company's bottom line. Your responsibilities will include: - Analyzing data from various sources such as medical records, prescription databases, and credit ratings to maintain profitability and avoid fines - Proactively seeking information and continuous learning opportunities to enhance your Underwriting skills and knowledge - Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and explain Underwriter decision-making - Participating in presentations and training sessions to improve Underwriting quality and efficiency - Identifying and resolving escalations to ensure seamless service delivery and protect the company's financial interests Success in this role will depend on various factors such as customer focus, resilience, courage to challenge the status quo, interpersonal skills, decision-making abilities, effective communication, business insights, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. Minimum qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree (preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of Life Underwriting experience in a production-oriented environment.
