Job Description

A Training Placement Officer (TPO) acts as a liaison between educational institutions and industries to facilitate student career transitions, responsibilities include industry networking, organizing campus placements, and providing students with career counseling, resume building, and soft skills training to prepare them for the job market. They assess recruiter needs, identify required skills, and groom students to meet those demands, bridging the gap between academia and industry. Key Responsibilities:

  • Industry Engagement: Builds and maintains relationships with companies and organizations to identify job opportunities for students.
  • Placement Drives: Organizes on-campus placement drives, job fairs, and campus recruitment activities.
  • Student Career Support: Provides guidance on career decisions, resume building, interview preparation, and conducting mock interviews.
  • Soft Skills & Personality Development: Conducts training sessions to enhance students' professional attributes, such as communication and leadership.
  • Industry Feedback: Collects and relays feedback from the industry to colleges to improve curriculum and student skill development in line with market demands.
  • Event Coordination: Manages educational and career fairs, inviting companies to campus and coordinating their activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Communication and Networking Skills: Essential for building relationships with companies and students.
  • Managerial Skills: Needed to organize and execute placement activities effectively.
  • Industry Knowledge: An understanding of job market trends and the skills required by various industries is beneficial.
  • Educational Background: A degree in management is often a desirable qualification for a TPO.
