Description
Role & responsibilities Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans for sheet metal stamping, forming, and punching tools. Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot tool wear, misalignment, and mechanical failures . Conduct regular inspections to identify issues before they lead to breakdowns. Maintain press tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to ensure optimal performance. Maintain and update maintenance logs and reports for all tooling activities. Work closely with production, toolmakers, and quality teams to optimize tool performance. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and maintenance procedures . Recommend improvements and modifications to enhance tool life and efficiency. Train and guide maintenance personnel on best practices in tooling maintenance. Requirements Education & Experience Education : Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related field. Experience : 3+ years in tool & die maintenance, sheet metal tool maintenance, or press shop maintenance . Technical Skills Knowledge of progressive, compound, and blanking dies . Hands-on experience with hydraulic and mechanical press machines . Proficiency in lathe , grinding, milling, and EDM processes . Understanding of tool steel properties, heat treatment, and wear resistance . Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and tool assembly blueprints .
