Description
As a Food Safety Specialist at Sodexo, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the deployment of a Zero Harm mindset within frontline employees. You will be in charge of implementing Safety improvement plans at the site/account and confirming the deployment of Sodexo Safety Net and Client Safety initiatives. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall upkeep, food hygiene, and safety standards of the location, monitoring activities throughout the food chain to uphold food safety standards. You will need to conduct Risk Assessments to identify potential risks related to the working environment, machinery, or equipment, and suggest preventive measures to the site manager. It will be your duty to prepare Risk Assessments & Risk Registers, update them post-incident or new scope additions, and train frontline staff in hazard identification and reporting. Furthermore, you will be required to prepare and update the Legal Register, ensuring all legal compliance is in place and escalating in case of non-compliances. Your role will involve conducting safety walks and Safety Observations, reporting them in the Salus system, and tracking for closure. You will also create awareness on Nearmiss reporting, report Nearmiss incidents in Salus, and manage Incident Management by informing regional HSE & region Head, investigating incidents, preparing Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and ensuring all corrective actions are implemented at the site. In addition to the above responsibilities, you will need to ensure adherence to various HSE practices such as Time-temperature, FIFO, Sorting Process, Thawing, salt & Turmeric processes, CCPs, Deep Cleaning, Pest Control, PPM of Equipment, Electrical Safety, Global engineering practices, and HSMS processes. Monitoring that all required checklists and records are maintained, conducting HSE trainings, safety campaigns, calibrations, self-inspections, and safety declarations will also be part of your duties. To qualify for this role, you should have a Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Food Science or related field, along with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Food Safety and Health and Safety Systems Management. Possessing certifications like Certified Lead auditor ISO22000/HACCP/ISO 9001/ISO45001 and Advance Diploma in Food Safety would be advantageous.
