Job Description

TGT Social Studies Teacher

The ideal candidate will be committed to educational excellence, value-based teaching, and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic & Teaching Duties

  • lesson plans

  • Develop engaging and activity-based teaching methods that promote understanding rather than rote learning.

  • Encourage discussions, debates, and projects that help students connect classroom learning to real-life social and civic issues.

  • Integrate technology, maps, audio-visual aids, and digital resources into teaching.

  • Maintain accurate records of students performance, attendance, and assignments.

2. Student Assessment & Evaluation

  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress.

  • Maintain documentation and evaluation records for internal assessments, projects, and periodic tests.

  • Prepare and assist in school examinations and board-related documentation.

3. Classroom Management & Discipline

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and respect.

  • Manage classroom discipline with fairness and empathy.

  • Promote moral values, teamwork, and respect for diverse cultures and opinions.

4. Curriculum Planning & Professional Development

  • Stay updated with CBSE circulars, teaching methodologies, and curriculum reforms.

  • Contribute to co-scholastic activities such as exhibitions, quizzes, and social awareness programs.

  • Attend workshops, training sessions, and professional development programs as required by the school or CBSE.

5. Co-Curricular & School Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing cultural programs, educational trips, and awareness events related to history and civics.

  • Support school initiatives, celebrations, and community projects.

  • Collaborate with other subject teachers to integrate Social Studies with interdisciplinary learning themes.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Qualification:

  • History / Geography / Political Science / Economics

  • B.Ed.

  • Masters Degree in the relevant subject preferred (optional but desirable).

Experience:

  • 2 years of teaching experience

  • CBSE curriculum and examination patterns.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

  • Strong command of subject matter and ability to simplify complex topics.

  • Proficiency in using digital tools, smart boards, and online teaching aids.

  • Passion for teaching and mentoring students with patience and creativity.

  • Strong classroom management, leadership, and motivational abilities.
