Textile Designer

We are now seeking a Product Designer who can translate our ethos into physical products that are functional, stylish, and culturally relevant.

Key Responsibilities

● Concept Development:

○ Design and develop lifestyle products across apparel, accessories, and everyday-use categories (e.g., t-shirts, caps, footwear, leather goods, tech accessories, collectibles).

○ Create mood boards, sketches, and 3D mock-ups aligned with the brand’s design language.

● Product Design & Prototyping:

○ Work with different fabrics, materials, and finishes to design premium products with durability and comfort.

○ Develop detailed tech packs, CAD drawings, and specifications for vendors and manufacturers.

○ Oversee prototyping and ensure designs translate seamlessly from concept to production.

● Brand Integration:

○ Embed Selfmade’s cultural DNA and storytelling into product design — subtle yet distinctive.

○ Research global fashion, lifestyle, and streetwear trends to create products that are aspirational yet accessible.

● Collaboration & Execution:

○ Work closely with founders, product managers, and vendors to ensure timelines, costs, and quality benchmarks are met.

○ Liaise with manufacturers for sampling, iterations, and final approvals.

○ Ensure consistency in product packaging, care labels, and brand experience.

● Innovation & Research:

○ Experiment with new materials, finishes, and printing techniques (e.g., 3D HD prints, mercerized cotton, leather embossing).

○ Research sustainability practices and propose eco-conscious design choices.

Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or related field.

● 1–4 years of experience in product or apparel design (fresh but talented graduates with strong portfolios also considered).

● Strong proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhino, CLO 3D, CAD, etc.).

● Understanding of fabrics, garment construction, trims, and accessories.

● Excellent sketching, visualization, and prototyping skills.

● Passion for lifestyle, fashion, and culture — with an eye for minimal yet impactful design.

● Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and tight timelines.
