Job Description

The role of a Territory Manager-AIF 1 at Atlas Copco (India) Private Ltd. involves direct responsibility for achieving sales targets and promoting the growth of Oil Free products such as Air Compressors, dryers, and associated accessories in the assigned market segment/territory through effective territory management and proactive sales strategies. As a Territory Manager, your key tasks will include prospecting, creating, and converting a healthy pipeline of opportunities to exceed sales targets. It is essential to understand the technical requirements of customers and strategically position products and value-added services solutions by demonstrating the Return on Investment and the value of the products to secure profitable orders and establish long-term customer relationships. Collaboration with the Zonal Manager to develop a business development plan for the territory, proactive utilization of digital sales tools, making business and product presentations to customers, consultants, OEMs, and driving marketing initiatives within the assigned territory are also part of the role. Creating a loyal customer base, increasing customer share, and market share gradually are important goals. Technical understanding of compressed air solutions and knowledge of Atlas Copco's range of compressed air solutions are advantageous. Following the equipment sales process from ordering to execution and adhering to the division's end-to-end sales process guidelines are crucial aspects of the role. Handling high-value orders in collaboration with inter-company stakeholders is emphasized. To excel in this role, candidates are expected to have a clear business growth and territory plan, utilize indirect business channel partners and OEM channels effectively, be actively engaged in generating business opportunities and converting them into revenues, provide technically accurate solutions to customers, comply with proactive sales management tools, and follow the Atlas Copco divisional approval process for sales functions. Professional requirements for this position include a minimum engineering degree with at least 5 years of sales experience, preferably in handling capital equipment sales. Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills are essential, along with a flair for technical sales and marketing. Willingness to travel extensively within the territory for customer meetings, a customer-centric and solution-driven attitude, and effective teamwork skills are also key to success. An empathetic, supportive, and assertive approach, along with fact-based communication to avoid conflicts and risks, are important qualities desired in candidates. A combination of a degree in engineering (Mechanical/E&TC/EEE, etc.) and an MBA in Marketing is preferred.
