Job Description

Job Summary:

Telecom Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain telecom infrastructure including voice, data, wireless, and IP-based networks.
Configure and manage switches, routers, gateways, BTS/NodeB/eNodeB/gNodeB, MSC, SBCs, IMS, and other telecom network elements.
Perform network optimization, capacity planning, traffic analysis, and performance tuning.
Handle installation and maintenance of fiber, microwave, copper, and other transmission mediums.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve telecom hardware/software faults and outages.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for network upgrades, rollouts, and integration projects.
Ensure compliance with telecom regulatory standards and documentation practices.
Maintain network security and quality of service (QoS) standards across the infrastructure.
Support NOC operations and provide escalation support for Level 2/3 incidents.
Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, reports, and SOPs.
Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as needed.

Required Skills:

Knowledge of telecom equipment from vendors like Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, ZTE, etc.
Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, NetAct, NetNumen, TEMS, RF planning tools, and OSS/BSS systems.
Solid understanding of Layer 13 networking concepts, VLANs, QoS, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
