Telecom Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain telecom networks including voice, data, wireless, and IP systems.
  
• Implement and support

  4G/5G

  ,

  LTE

  ,

  VoIP

  ,

  SDH/PDH

  ,

  Microwave

  , or

  Optical

  communication systems.
• Conduct network planning, performance monitoring, and optimization to ensure high availability and quality of service (QoS).
  
• Perform

  site surveys

  ,

  RF planning

  , and

  capacity analysis

  for network expansion and improvement.
• Diagnose and resolve network and system faults, ensuring minimal downtime.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (NOC, Core, IT, and Field Operations) to execute telecom projects.
  
• Prepare technical documentation, test plans, and reports for system upgrades and new deployments.
  
• Ensure compliance with telecom standards, safety regulations, and quality protocols.
  
• Work with vendors and service providers to manage telecom infrastructure and troubleshoot escalations.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  
• 2+ years of experience in telecom systems design, implementation, or operations.
  
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies:
  

• Mobile Networks:

  2G/3G/4G/5G, LTE, NR

• Core Networks:

  EPC, IMS, HLR/HSS, PCRF, VoLTE

• Transmission:

  Microwave, Fiber Optic, IP/MPLS, DWDM

• Enterprise Telecom:

  VoIP, SIP, PBX, IP Telephony, Call Routing
• Strong knowledge of telecom protocols — SIP, SS7, Diameter, TCP/IP, RTP.
  
• Experience with

  network monitoring tools

  (Wireshark, NetAct, SolarWinds, etc.).
• Good understanding of

  network security

  ,

  QoS

  , and

  traffic engineering

  concepts.
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
  

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in

  OSS/BSS systems

  ,

  Network Automation

  , or

  SDN/NFV

  environments.
• Familiarity with

  cloud-based telecom solutions

  (AWS, Azure, or private cloud).
• Certifications such as

  CCNA/CCNP (Routing & Switching/Service Provider)

  Nokia NRS

  Ericsson Certified Engineer

  , or

  Huawei HCIA/HCIP

  .
• Exposure to

  Python scripting

  or

  Ansible

  for network automation.
• Understanding of

  telecom regulatory standards

  (TRAI, ITU, 3GPP).
