Role Purpose :Storage :LOCATION :ONLY PUNE

Strong Communication skills

Education Required: Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent

Experience required: 6-8 Years in storage administration, Design and Implementation on EMC Storage (VNX) & Hitachi Storages

1. Responsible for performing daily operational tasks like storage provisioning and maintaining availability at the customer site(s). Provisions storage based on standardized procedures as outlined by storage best practice documentation.

2. Participates in the execution of the business continuance and disaster recovery plans as agreed upon by Wipro and the customer.

3. Participates in the design and operational execution of the customer's storage disaster recovery process as required.

4. Responsible for performing a wide variety of daily storage management tasks as well as providing recommendations for effective and efficient storage system use.

5. Considered an expert in the implementation and use of EMC & Hitachi storage solutions.

6. Knowledgeable of industry best practices in the implementation of complex storage environments.

7. Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with customer's change management policies.

8. Participates in the continual review and improvement of existing operational policies and procedures in compliance with

EMC'/Hitachi s storage management best practices.

Fault/Incident/Activity Management

• Manage, monitor & maintain storage (SAN) subsystems.
• Manage, monitor & maintain fabric infrastructure used for storage subsystems
• Perform periodic health check on the storage infrastructure.
• Ensure the storage subsystem is secured & effective access r4ereecontrol is in place.
• Ensure storage subsystems & associated infrastructure is integrated with standard monitoring tools.
• Perform storage tuning.
• Storage provisioning based on requirements
• Implement storage tier to enable storage reclamation
• Conduct routine monitoring using software tools to measure the efficiency of online storage access and take corrective action as needed (including performance adjustments to equipment and software, or file placement as required to optimize service).
• Configuration of the respective Storage OEM tools to monitor critical parameters like Cache, Input/Output Parts (IOP's) and alert Business against thresholds on a 24 X 7 basis
• Setting up OEM tools for reporting of storage allocation and utilization
• Configuration backup for SAN switches.
• Work with OEM for hardware replacements on storage sub-systems

Storage Administration task

• Configure port setting
• Configure port zoning
• Add, delete and modify RAID configuration
• Add, delete and modify file system configuration
• Physical disk management

Security Management Tasks

• Configuration of volume with relevant user rights and permissions after a complete change management cycle
• Management and audit of the usage of the volumes by the assigned users

Administration

• Managing online storage thresholds and data archives.
• Monitor user directories for file inactivity and reporting monthly.
• Provide online storage compaction as needed and as possible within production processing schedules.
• Provide data migration/archive management
• Support virtualization
• Manage storage replications both within the DC and DR.
• Snapshot management
• Business Continuation Volume (BCV) administration

Do

1. Bridging the gap between project and support teams through techno-functional expertise

• For a new business implementation project, drive the end to end process from business requirement management to integration & configuration and production deployment
• Check the feasibility of the new change requirements and provide optimal solution to the client with clear timelines
• Provide techno-functional solution support for all the new business implementations while building the entire system from the scratch
• Support the solutioning team from architectural design, coding, testing and implementation
• Understand the functional design as well as technical design and architecture to be implemented on the ERP system
• Customize, extend, modify, localize or integrate to the existing product by virtue of coding, testing & production
• Implement the business processes, requirements and the underlying ERP technology to translate them into ERP solutions
• Write code as per the developmental standards to decide upon the implementation methodology
• Provide product support and maintenance to the clients for a specific ERP solution and resolve the day to day queries/ technical problems which may arise
• Create and deploy automation tools/ solutions to ensure process optimization and increase in efficiency
• Sink between technical and functional requirements of the project and provide solutioning/ advise to the client or internal teams accordingly
• Support on-site manager with the necessary details wrt any change and off-site support

2. Skill upgradation and competency building

• Clear wipro exams and internal certifications from time to time to upgrade the skills
• Attend trainings, seminars to sharpen the knowledge in functional/ technical domain
• Write papers, articles, case studies and publish them on the intranet
