Job Description

Job Purpose:

To perform maintenance, repair, and minor construction work related to civil infrastructure, plumbing, painting, and tiling within the production plant. The Civil Maintenance Technician ensures the upkeep, functionality, and safe condition of the facility to support uninterrupted plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Civil & Structural Maintenance

Carry out repair and maintenance of floors, tiles, walls, ceilings, and structural surfaces.

Perform tiling, grouting, plastering, and minor masonry works as required.

Conduct inspection of building structures and report damages or cracks for corrective action.

Assist in minor fabrication, concrete patching, and waterproofing jobs.

2. Painting & Finishing Works

Perform interior and exterior painting, polishing, and touch-up work in plant and office areas.

Ensure surface preparation (scraping, sanding, priming) before painting.

Maintain color consistency and high-quality finishing as per plant standards.

Handle preventive painting work in high-moisture or critical areas (utility rooms, wash zones, etc.).

3. Plumbing & Sanitary Maintenance

Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, and sanitary fixtures.

Repair leaking pipes, valves, faucets, and water tanks.

Clean and maintain drain lines, traps, and sewage systems.

Coordinate with utility team for RO, STP, and ETP water line connections when required.

4. Preventive & Corrective Work

Execute routine inspections to identify potential civil or plumbing issues.

Respond to breakdowns or maintenance calls quickly and effectively.

Maintain an organized record of work completed and material used.

Support production areas by ensuring facility hygiene and infrastructure safety.

5. Safety & Housekeeping

Follow all plant safety protocols and use PPE during maintenance activities.

Ensure maintenance areas are clean, hazard-free, and properly restored after work.

Assist in emergency response (e.g., water leakage, wall damage, blockage).

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

ITI / Diploma in Civil, Plumbing, or Building Maintenance.

Experience:

3 8 years in industrial or commercial maintenance, preferably in a production or factory setup.

Preferred Industry:

Manufacturing, food processing, FMCG, or facility management.

Key Skills:

Expertise in

tiling, masonry, painting, and plumbing

works.

Knowledge of water supply systems, drainage layouts, and basic carpentry.

Ability to interpret layout drawings and perform measurements accurately.

Familiar with tools, materials, and safety practices for civil maintenance.

Problem-solving and multitasking abilities.

Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.
