Job Description

Role Overview: As a Manufacturing Equipment Technician at First Solar, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation and qualification of manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting day-to-day manufacturing process and equipment issues, performing necessary maintenance and repair of equipment, and identifying/implementing system improvements to achieve throughput, yield, and product performance goals. Additionally, you will participate in the training and upskilling of production associates and technicians. Key Responsibilities: - Solve day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems - Perform on-site service and repair of equipment - Identify and implement yield and product performance improvements - Accomplish daily assignments as scheduled and directed - Develop methods to assign causes to yield excursions - Set up and maintain gauges - Ensure all processes are running as defined by the Process Control Plan - Respond to SPC process control alarms and bring processes back into control - Execute planned process experiments, collect and analyze data, and report experimental results - Collect data on daily tool performance and associated product performance - Transition new equipment and processes through start-up, qualification, and implementation - Provide training to production associates - Develop and update internal documentation including drawings, standard operating procedures, and process specifications - Interface with internal associates and supplier representatives to complete assigned projects - Maintain effective communication with other members of the manufacturing team - Dispose non-conforming product according to established criteria - Adhere to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards - Complete First Solar EMT 1 training program - Ensure waste materials are discarded properly - Ensure hazardous waste containers stay closed except when adding or removing waste - Ensure satellite accumulation containers stay in designated locations Qualifications Required: - High School Diploma or GED - Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: - Associate degree in a technical discipline - Two or more years of machine or mechanic experience as a primary job function - One year of First Solar technical experience - Six months experience as Associate EMT at First Solar with a rating of 5 or higher in all relevant EMT proficiency categories - Safety first mindset - Verifiable electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge - Hands-on troubleshooting/repair skills - Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision - Good written and oral communications skills in English - Able to troubleshoot and solve equipment and process issues - Able to deal with administrative and technical tasks - Working knowledge of common Windows computer applications - Able to identify recurring issues and develop improvement recommendations Company Details: N/A,
