As a Coatings Scientist (Research Associate / Research Engineer), you will be responsible for developing expertise in surface science and wettability to support the exploration of new coating materials systems on glass such as ceramic frits, sol-gel, and silicates. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, optimizing, and implementing wet chemical methods for synthesizing and applying organic and inorganic coatings. Additionally, you will contribute to establishing surface engineering competency at the R&D center and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and develop innovative solutions. You will be expected to analyze and characterize materials using advanced microscopy, spectroscopy, and other relevant techniques. It will be essential to document experimental procedures, results, and interpretations in technical reports while ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. Moreover, fostering a culture of safety and collaboration in the laboratory will be a key part of your role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Master's degree in materials science and engineering with 1 - 3 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess a safety mindset with a strong awareness of chemical hygiene, along with a solid experimental background and analytical skills. Some familiarity with coatings and surface science is preferred, and excellent communication skills are essential. Being a strong team player with the ability to connect with partners in operations, quality, R&D, and business will be advantageous in this role.,
