Technical Writer

Scope of the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation that effectively communicates complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to develop clear and concise manuals, user guides, API documentation, and online help content.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation Development:

1. Create, edit, and maintain user manuals, technical guides, API documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base articles.

2. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly language.

3. Develop content for software products, hardware systems, processes, and procedures.

Collaboration:

1. Work closely with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and support teams to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy.

2. Participate in product planning and review meetings to stay informed about upcoming changes and new features.

Content Quality & Standards:

1. Ensure all documentation meets company standards for clarity, consistency, and usability.

2. Follow and contribute to style guides and documentation standards.

3. Review and update existing documentation regularly to maintain accuracy and relevance.

Content Management:

1. Use content management systems (CMS) or documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar) to publish and organize documentation.

2. Track documentation versions and maintain proper records of updates and revisions.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Create visual aids such as diagrams, charts, and screenshots to complement written content.

2. Assist in the development of training materials and user onboarding resources.

3. Gather and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to improve documentation

About the Candidate (including required competencies)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and explain technical concepts clearly and accurately.
• Familiarity with documentation tools and CMS platforms (e.g., Confluence, GitHub, MadCap Flare, or similar).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.
• Basic understanding of HTML, Markdown, or XML is an advantage.

Requirements & Qualification

1. Proven experience as a technical writer, preferably in a software or technology environment.
2. Bachelors degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
