Responsibilities

• Write technical documentation based on Functional documents. Build reference docs and developer guides. Keep emphasis on documentation that is technically accurate and brings clarity for even complex processes.
• Review documents written by developers / PMs for a particular API and suggest changes / seek clarity to externalize the same documents.
• Supplement developer documentation with relevant sample code to reduce grounds-up efforts of external developers.
• Develop and use all types of content types (workflows / process schematics / instructional videos / developer consoles) to simplify the users understanding of the requirements.
• Use your extensive knowledge of the needs of developers and pass this feedback internally to develop the next set of technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or masters degree in English, Communications or Engineering
• 3 to 5 years of working experience as a ‘Technical Writer ’
• Experience using Git to manage asynchronous collaboration across large teams
• Familiarity with API documentation tools such as Swagger
• Knowledge of Java is a must.
• Experience with programming to enable sample code will require experience, especially around core web technologies such as Python / Javascript / JSON / HTML required.
• Demonstrate experience in writing and proofreading of content, especially technology related content.
• Strong organizational with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Superior English language writing and editing skills and ability to pass an editing test. Ensure content and formatting are consistent and free of technical and grammatical errors.
• Experience in creating clear and concise software procedures, as well as general product documentation that is professional looking and visually appealing communications
• An analytical frame of mind to study the requirements of any document and build the content so that it maps to the end user’s context
• Familiarity and experience in creating templates and applying formatting styles
• Able to work to a style guide and follow department templates
• An eye for detail and executing assignments with a process-oriented approach
• Strong PC skills and willingness to learn new technologies as required
• Must blend well with team and be able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Must work well with shifting priorities and direction and be a self-starter
• Ability to read code in one or more programming languages, such as Java
• Excellent communication and writing skills to interact with developers
• Sound knowledge of principles of Information Mapping
• Experience with Agile and SCRUM processes
• Experience in content management systems, basic html/XML and writing tools such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT), Adobe Robohelp, Adobe In-design & Adobe Captivate
