Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial & Metal Working Fluid Specialist with hands-on expertise in product development, technical services, and component-based formulations for metal working fluids, including semisynthetic, synthetic, and neat oils. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, formulating, testing, and optimizing fluid solutions using specific components to meet industry standards and customer requirements. Knowledge of automotive lubricants and greases is highly desirable. The role requires a proactive individual with strong technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Development

    :
    • Formulate and develop high-performance metal working fluids (semisynthetic, synthetic, and neat oils) using component-based formulations tailored to specific industrial applications.
    • Select and optimize individual components (e.g., base oils, emulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, extreme pressure additives, biocides) to achieve desired fluid performance characteristics.
    • Conduct research and development to innovate and improve existing product lines, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
    • Perform lab-scale trials, stability testing, and performance evaluations to validate component-based formulations.
  • Technical Services

    :
    • Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting fluid performance issues, recommending solutions, and optimizing fluid applications.
    • Conduct on-site trials and demonstrations to ensure seamless integration of component-based fluid formulations at client facilities.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop technical documentation, product datasheets, and customer training materials.
  • Quality Assurance

    :
    • Ensure all component-based formulations meet industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, DIN) and customer specifications.
    • Work with quality control teams to monitor product consistency and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Market and Industry Insights

    :
    • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in metal working fluids, component technologies, and lubricant formulations.
    • Provide insights to support the development of competitive and sustainable product offerings.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    :
    • Work closely with R&D, production, procurement, and sales teams to ensure smooth product development and delivery.
    • Support supply chain teams in sourcing raw materials and additives for component-based fluid formulations.
  • Automotive Lubricants and Greases (Advantageous)

    :
    • Leverage knowledge of automotive lubricants and greases to support related product lines and cross-industry applications.
    • Contribute to the development and technical support of automotive lubricant products as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education

: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience

    :
    • 12-15 years of hands-on experience in product development, technical services, and component-based formulations for metal working fluids (semisynthetic, synthetic, and neat oils).
    • Proven expertise in selecting and optimizing components (e.g., base oils, emulsifiers, additives) for fluid formulations used in applications such as cutting, grinding, forming, and machining.
    • Experience in providing technical support to industrial clients and troubleshooting fluid-related issues.
    • Knowledge of automotive lubricants and greases is a strong advantage.
  • Technical Skills

    :
    • In-depth understanding of fluid chemistry, component interactions, and their roles in metal working fluid performance.
    • Expertise in component-based formulation techniques, including balancing additives and base fluids for stability and functionality.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and testing methods (e.g., ASTM, DIN, ISO).
    • Proficiency in laboratory equipment and testing protocols for evaluating component-based fluid performance.
    • Knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., REACH, EPA) impacting fluid formulations.
  • Soft Skills

    :
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Age Requirement

: 35-45 years, aligning with the experience and maturity required for the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive lubricant and grease industry.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and sustainability practices in fluid development.
  • Prior experience working with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers in the manufacturing or automotive sectors.
